Something that I’ll also talk about is TNF alpha. TNF alpha is a molecule that plays a major role in immune surveillance of cancer cell lines and induce apoptosis in those cell types including cells like bartonella that include oncogenic DNA.
The way treatment is used in the medical system is to use TNF inhibitors and that will reduce discomfort caused by inflammation but it won’t treat the underlying cause.
The upside of turning the immune system back on is that you are treating the cause and not just covering up symptoms.
Inhibition of TNF alpha also increases potential for infection to spread since you are removing immune system function.

“Bartonella effector BepD impairs TNF-α secretion and stimulates IL-10 secretion”
Bartonella impairs TNF- α secretion but doesn’t inhibit it completely and the glycoalkaloids (Solamargine and Solasonine) used in the protocol make the receptors more sensitive to TNF’s to cancel that effect out.
Yes you are likely to get increased inflammation but this approach is designed to treat the cause and when the cause has been eliminated that is when relief is attained.

“Action of solamargine on human lung cancer cells--enhancement of the susceptibility of cancer cells to TNFs”
“SM treatment increased the binding activities of TNF-alpha and TNF-beta to the lung cancers, and the intrinsic TNFs-resistant cancer cells became susceptible to TNF-alpha and -beta. In addition, SM caused release of cytochrome c, downregulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL, increase of caspase-3 activity, and DNA fragmentation. “

"Our early experiments revealed a rapid downregulation of Fas-associated death domain (FADD) protein in HMEC-1 cells during the course of B. henselae infection (Figure 7). This
downregulation of FADD protein expression indicates that either Fas or TNF-receptor-1 (TNFR1) pathway is affected by the presence of B. henselae."
We know that TNF's can bind to and affect infected cells resulting in Apoptosis but can they bind to free floating bacteria?

"This report shows that gram-negative bacteria (bartonella being gram-negative) have receptors for TNF-alpha and that a virulence property of a bacterium is altered as a consequence of cytokine binding."
TNF blockers are used in a lot of drugs now and you can listen to the disclaimers in a lot of commercials that basically say “This stuff is fucking wonderful but your immune system won’t fight infections anymore.”
I don’t subscribe to the above philosophy instead I believe in killing the pathogenic problem and bartonella is a cancer causing bacteria that carries oncogenic DNA, explained here;

Yes the cat's out of the bag, it turns out TNF's play an important role in clearing Bartonella.

"Furthermore, the lower levels of TNF-alpha mRNA expression during the bacteremia related to the emergence of higher levels of bacteremia. These results indicate that the activation of cell-mediated immune responses, including IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha production, play an important role in elimination of B. henselae from bacteremic cats."
Bartonella is successful because it controls the immune system and shuts off immune function. You don't need antibiotics, in fact they are detrimental, you can lower the infection level with things like monolaurin and oregano oil capsules.
